About Gutters

A free-flowing gutter system to direct rain running off a roof is important.  They channel rainwater to downspouts that carry it to the ground and away from your home.  When properly installed, gutters keep foundations, basements, and crawlspaces dry, preserve the soil in your yard and protect your siding from backsplash, rot, and mold, and your windows and doors are shielded from water seepage damage.

In the course of collecting water, open rain gutters also collect leaves, acorns, pine needles, and other debris which can cause clogs or blockages. This causes the rainwater to back up and it can then seep into and under your roof shingles causing damage to your walls and ceilings.

In dry conditions clogged gutters are a fire hazard; and during heavy rains, clogged gutters and downspouts can cause rainwater to overflow, potentially causing substantial damage to your building, landscaping, and basement.

Seamless aluminum gutters have changed the industry. In most configurations there are no seams, making the gutters stronger and leak proof. They come in a variety of colors which are perfect for matching the trim or house color. Today over 70% of residential gutters are seamless aluminum gutters, also known as roll-formed gutters, (OG or K-style gutters.) Seamless gutters come in a wide choice of colors, painted and baked on to the metal when it is made. Seamless aluminum gutters are custom fit to your home on site.

Ideally, the life expectancy of the average aluminum gutter is 20 – 30 years or longer, depending on maintenance, the care you take putting ladders against them, and regional weather conditions in your area of the country.
